How We Started
Our company started operating in 2019 when the Rishmawi family opened the first On The Go location on Alligator Rd. The Rishmawi family already had owned many convenience stores in the Florence community, but they wanted to create the On The Go brand to represent themselves and their community. Their goal was to create a clean, safe, and professional store where the neighborhood could shop and enjoy.
Founders George and Betty Rishmawi first started a business in South Carolina in 2005. They rented a small country store and operated it along with their children. They were incredibly successful from the beginning, and after just a year, they turned a dollar shop into a convenience store in the small community of Hemingway, SC.
Their success focused on treating each customer like family—providing quality and respectful service to everyone. Today, we still carry these values proudly, and we continuously strive to represent those humble beginnings into the communities we serve.
